We hosted a Seminar Lunch Gathering for Kimono and Japanese Culture Lovers at Ikegami Honmonji Temple in Ota City, inviting Tokyo Yuzen artist Kumiko Machida as our guest lecturer.
After strolling through the historic temple grounds—rich with cultural assets and historical landmarks—we held Ms. Machida’s seminar.
She shared fascinating insights into her journey with Yuzen dyeing, the process of creating hand-painted Yuzen, and her innovative work with digital Yuzen.
Ms. Machida is also active internationally, and her stories about working abroad, as well as the global response to Japanese culture, were truly inspiring and informative.
Although it was unfortunate that our co-organizer, Ms. Yoshie Hattori, had to be absent due to health reasons, we hope to organize more Japanese culture events in the future.
