Participating in the Japan–Vietnam Cultural Exchange Festival in Vietnam

“I will definitely share Japanese culture with the world!”

Recently, my activities in supporting Japanese culture have been gaining momentum, and suddenly I received an exciting opportunity:
an invitation to participate in a Japanese cultural event in Vietnam.

The event was the Da Nang Japan–Vietnam Cultural Exchange Festival, organized by the Vietnamese government.

Through an introduction from a calligraphy master, I traveled to Da Nang, Vietnam from July 13 to 16, 2023.

At this event, there were both stage performances and exhibition booths. I participated by hosting a booth together with artisans.

I thought carefully about how to make Japanese culture approachable and engaging. To attract people and create a welcoming atmosphere, I introduced traditional Japanese games such as tōsenkyō (fan-tossing game), sumo-themed games, ring toss, and origami.

As a result, many people gathered at the booth, showing great interest and enjoying the activities.

Although I don’t speak Vietnamese, I managed to teach how to fold origami cranes using gestures and simple English words.

The booth operated on a rotation schedule, and before I knew it, time had flown by—I was even sweating from the excitement!

We were also visited by a local YouTuber duo, Danan Sisters, whom I had met during the event.

It was a simple setup, but it allowed for meaningful and enjoyable interactions with local visitors.

And by the way—I’m also scheduled to visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Vietnam!

More details on that coming soon.
